Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team at Strata Clean Energy. As an IT Support Specialist, you will provide critical IT support to our remote projects and operating solar sites, ensuring that our staff can access the sites physically and remotely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist network and systems administrators with supporting firewalls, routers, switches, and servers at remote locations.
  • Travel to solar farms to troubleshoot, implement, or assist with solar farm hardware and software.
  • Perform network and systems audits and inventory of all solar farm equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting SCADA hardware and software on solar farms.
  • Work with manufacturers or vendors to deploy systems and troubleshoot issues.
  • Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities on solar farms.
  • Support and maintain solar farm data transfer connections using protocols such as FTP, SFTP, OPC UA, and others.
  • Support field Verizon wireless modems with configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain secure patch levels on remote systems.
  • Create change requests before installation and configuration of site equipment.
  • Support mobile jobsite IT kits and depots.
  • Collaborate with the Strata Clean Energy Remote Operation Center to ensure remote operation of solar sites.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in computer science or related field and 2+ years' experience in desktop support.
  • Proven experience in a computer support role, such as a help desk.
  • Hands-on experience with servers, networking, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with firewalls, switches, IoT equipment, network troubleshooting, Windows troubleshooting, ticketing systems, and problem resolution.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and equipment is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • CompTIA or Cisco certifications are a plus.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in an office environment and in the field.
  • Travel of up to 50% can be expected.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist, and lift 20 pounds.
