Training and Development Specialist

As a Training and Development Specialist at American Cast Iron Pipe, you will play a crucial role in shaping the skills and knowledge of our workforce.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to develop and implement structured training processes that emphasize safe and repeatable practices for our manufacturing processes.

You will lead training efforts, working with departments to document and create instructional content, and facilitate effective training classes using our Learning Management System.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Engineering, Instructional Design, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in training and development within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Demonstrated ability to coach and train others, influence and motivate, and exhibit creativity and problem-solving skills.

Ability to be a self-starter, make independent decisions, and work with minimal guidance.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize workload under stress.

Strong interpersonal skills, confidentiality, and a positive attitude.

Ability to adapt work schedule based on training and manufacturing needs.

Must exhibit prior experience in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.

Must exhibit a high school degree or equivalency (GED).

Must exhibit a valid state-issued driver's license.

Training Program Development:

Develop, track, and ensure the effectiveness of various training programs, coordinating hands-on training with vendors while ensuring adherence to established programs.

New Hire Orientation:

Coordinate all aspects of new hire orientation, fostering a positive onboarding experience.

Training Class Facilitation:

Facilitate effective training classes, utilizing the Learning Management System (LMS).

Relationship Management:

Maintain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.

Education/Certifications:

Candidates with a strong track record in learning and development, including participation in relevant seminars and outstanding classroom experiences, will be highly valued.
