Job Title: Resource Specialist

At Inspiritus Inc., we are seeking a highly motivated and organized Resource Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day and long-term growth and enhancement of our Disability Services program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct community marketing events and efforts to recruit new homes and participant referrals for designated areas.
  • Conduct initial home studies and follow-up home inspections as necessary for eligibility, and review the accuracy and quality of every home study in accordance with Inspiritus policies and DBHDD requirements.
  • Collect all required documentation for new host home applications, reviewing for accuracy prior to submission to the Assistant Director of Disability Services, and track the home application process through final approval.
  • Respond to and follow up on referrals received for placement in a timely manner, and work with the Disability Services Intake Team to determine if referrals are appropriate for services.
  • Ensure the growth of new home development and increased census, and provide status updates of each application and each referral during weekly Leadership Meetings and/or Placement Report Meetings.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with Support Coordinators and other referral sources to increase referral of participants to host homes, and oversee the matching process of those referrals at the direction of the Assistant Director.
  • Maintain an updated list of open beds and sitters for alternative/respite care, and work in conjunction with and at the direction of the Assistant Director to match alternative care placements with approved homes.
  • Document regular communication with potential Home Providers and participant referral sources.
  • Conduct at least monthly Home Provider Information Sessions and Orientations, and set up Relias training accounts in conjunction with Quality Improvement Specialist.
  • Provide consultation with Case Managers and other team members as needed, and establish collaborative relationships with the Quality Improvement Specialist and other team members to ensure monitoring and data collection and trends are identified and reviewed.
  • Embraces a data-driven organization and uses dashboards and the PQI process to monitor progress and compliance, and participates in assigned committees when applicable.
  • Strives towards excellence in the areas of innovation, performance, and quality, working with the Quality Improvement Specialist to ensure Inspiritus' Standard Operating Procedures are maintained and up to date with all Alabama Department of Mental Health and waiver requirements.
  • Assists with assigned special projects by the Executive Director and Assistant Director in collaboration with other agency departments and programs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, such as social work, psychology, sociology, etc., or in business, marketing, etc.; or higher degree.
  • Minimum 2 years working with individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities.
  • Marketing experience.
  • Must be competent in training adult learners.
  • Must be skilled at working independently in a remote setting.
  • Must have the ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all persons in a professional and culturally competent manner; highly skilled at working in a collaborative manner with team members.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check including work references, drug screen, TB screen, and criminal background check.
  • Must be computer and internet literate with competencies in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and database/electronic case management system.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid Alabama Driver's license, possess a reliable personal vehicle, have and maintain personal auto insurance and a good driving record.
  • Ability to properly manage financial responsibilities related to travel (i.e., car rental, mileage reimbursement, expenses, etc.) including submitting receipts and expense reports on time.
