Training and Development Coordinator

Job Summary

The Training & Recruiting Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the recruitment and training processes at United Way of Central Alabama. This includes creating and posting job descriptions, candidate screening, participating in interviews, and facilitating onboarding. Additionally, this role will conduct needs assessments for additional training, assist in designing, developing, conducting, and evaluating training programs, including on-site and off-site training sessions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Assistant Vice President of People and Culture in various HR tasks
  • Recruit for all sites of Priority Veteran (temporary and direct hires)
  • Manage the temporary onboarding process
  • Recruit for most community initiatives positions
  • Attend job fairs
  • Conduct weekly new employee orientation
  • Conduct and create on-site and off-site internal trainings (delivered via Teams and in-person formats)
  • Work with the Director of Organizational Development and other leaders to create learning opportunities for staff and other productivity tools
  • Maintain training records, such as rosters, completions, and individual competencies
  • Collaborate with the entire HR team on various projects
  • Offer staff development assistance

Requirements

Must be a quick learner with technology and willing to be a team player. Organized, self-motivated, and excellent communicator with great presentation and organizational skills. Maintain a degree of integrity and demonstrate confidentiality. Demonstrates confidence in communication and delivery, as well as experience in public speaking, delivering training, or communicating policy or procedures.

Education and Experience

At least an associate's degree in business or human resources or a similar degree. 1-2 years of HR or related experience. Proficient in software such as UKG, Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment with 5-10% travel. Some overnight travel may be required. Must be able to lift 15-30 pounds.
