Job Description

Mechanical Engineer - Product Development Specialist

At EBSCO, we are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Product Development Specialist. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative, high-quality products that meet consumer requirements and are capable of efficient production and are cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design products and systems based on company requirements and develop technical plans.
  • Test prototypes and products to evaluate their performance.
  • Research and experiment with new ideas to advance the field.
  • Analyze problems to determine how mechanical devices or processes can help solve them.
  • Prepare technical documentation such as blueprints, reports, and user manuals.
  • Manage projects, including assessing project requirements and agreeing on budgets and timescales.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical) from an accredited college/university.
  • 1+ years of experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to form creative solutions to problems.
  • Proven organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft tools for data analysis, project tracking, and presentations.
  • Experience in SolidWorks usage/management and design software (Creo/Autodesk).

Preferred Skills:

  • A background in the hunting or outdoor sporting goods market.
  • Familiar with EBSCO products and a regular user of products in the outdoor market segment.
  • Ability to identify critical development issues via root-cause analysis and provide solutions in the form of long- and short-term countermeasures.
  • Competent in professional analysis and product development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Known as collaborative, engaging, and team-oriented. Partners well within department and across organizations.
  • Unquestionable personal integrity.
  • Clear ability to prioritize and execute all relevant tasks.
  • Have the passion, enthusiasm, and absolute drive for results with a clear focus on profitability.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts/problems effectively and quickly.
