Role Summary
The Grants Management Specialist serves as a vital member of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) at North Carolina A&T State University. Reporting directly to the Dean, this position is crucial for the effective management and oversight of grant-related initiatives within the College, ensuring the successful acquisition and utilization of grant resources to align with the College's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
The Grants Management Specialist is tasked with:
1. **Financial Oversight**: Administering financial and programmatic aspects of grants, ensuring compliance with all grantor regulations and guidelines.
2. **Budget Monitoring**: Keeping a close watch on budgets, making necessary adjustments to financial plans, and ensuring timely submission of financial and progress reports.
3. **Compliance Management**: Staying informed about grantor policies, implementing robust internal controls for compliance monitoring, and managing all required documentation and reporting with accuracy and punctuality.
This role is essential for maintaining the fiscal integrity and programmatic success of the College, acting as a bridge between potential funding sources and the institution's long-term sustainability and growth.
About the College
The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) boasts an enrollment of over 1,950 students and a dedicated faculty and staff of more than 200 members. CAHSS encompasses various departments, including Criminal Justice, English, History and Political Science, Journalism and Mass Communication, Liberal Studies, and Visual and Performing Arts. The Dean's Office oversees these academic units and their associated programs.

Qualifications
**Minimum Requirements**:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience from accredited institutions.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Familiarity with electronic research administration systems and financial management tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of research administration software, including submission portals.
- Understanding of federal, state, and university grant programs and their application processes.
- A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
Work Arrangement
This position is primarily on-site, reflecting the critical nature of the role that requires dedicated office space.
