- Prepares, portions, garnishes, and serves meals in accordance with standard recipes and planned menus, adhering to portion control guidelines.
- Manages inventory effectively.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding residents' personal and health information, respecting their privacy and adhering to resident rights as mandated by state regulations.
Qualifications:
- One to three years of experience in commercial food preparation is essential.
- Experience in assisted living or skilled nursing environments, with a comprehensive understanding of specialized diets.
- Solid knowledge of basic nutrition, culinary techniques, portion control, and serving practices.
- Proficient in operating standard kitchen equipment, including mixers, meat slicers, ovens, grills, deep fryers, stoves, steamers, choppers, dishwashers, and microwaves.
- Capable of preparing a variety of foods in large quantities, with familiarity in seasoning and cooking times.
- Able to follow standard recipes and independently create multi-course meals.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
Certifications and Licenses:
- A degree or certification from a culinary institution is preferred.
- Must hold or obtain necessary local and state food handling and sanitation licenses or certifications.
