Job Summary

We are seeking an English Language Coach to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing one-on-one coaching sessions to students in the Intensive English Program (IEP) at NC State University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with assigned IEP students for one-on-one coaching sessions to improve their English language skills.
  • Determine the best activities and materials to use in each coaching session based on the student's needs.
  • Communicate with the IEP director and other stakeholders regarding student progress and coaching outcomes.
  • Maintain and submit summary and attendance reports for coaching sessions on a weekly basis.
  • Participate in IEP staff meetings as requested.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Two plus (2+) years of experience working with secondary and/or post-secondary English language learners at an intermediate-to-advanced proficiency level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or Certificate in TESOL.
  • Current knowledge of issues and concerns relevant to the ESL field.
  • International teaching experience and/or fluency in a second language are highly desired.
Working Conditions

This is a non-faculty, at-will, temporary hourly appointment based on coaching needs expressed by students throughout the semester.
