Job Overview

North Central Utility (NCU) is seeking a driven and self-sufficient Parts Route Sales Representative to join our team in the heavy-duty truck and trailer parts sector.

About Us: NCU stands as one of the largest semi-trailer dealerships nationwide and the foremost in the North Central region, boasting 10 locations across multiple states. We provide a diverse range of trailers including reefer, dry van, and flatbed models from Utility Trailer Manufacturing, alongside vocational trailers from MAC Trailers. Our extensive parts department offers a wide array of Heavy-Duty Truck/Tractor and Trailer components, ensuring we serve as a comprehensive resource for all truck and semi-trailer parts needs. Our service department is equipped to handle everything from routine maintenance and certified DOT inspections to complete wreck repairs for trailers of various makes and models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of customer accounts within your designated territory.
  • Conduct regular visits to assigned customers.
  • Perform cold calls to potential customers monthly.
  • Act as the primary contact for customer accounts.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Educate fleet customers on product features and operational benefits.
  • Assist retail customers with merchandising strategies based on sales data.
  • Drive sales growth through promotional initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for customer loyalty and incremental sales.
  • Share product samples and communicate their advantages.
  • Develop strategic action plans to address sales gaps.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of sales reports.
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the company vehicle.
  • Participate in trade shows and customer events.
  • Assist with counter sales and warehouse duties as needed.
  • Support management with various tasks.

Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Previous experience in retail sales is preferred.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable using technology, including tablets.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
