Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Materials Engineer to lead and inspire technological excellence in the development of carbon scaffolds for hosting silicon materials. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying and sourcing new or alternative carbon precursors to enhance silicon performance, collaborating with external parties to secure necessary material supplies, and developing these carbon scaffolds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize carbon scaffolds for hosting silicon materials, aligning with our company's overarching business strategic goals.
  • Lead efforts in developing these carbon scaffolds, including identifying and sourcing new or alternative carbon precursors to enhance silicon performance.
  • Collaborate with external parties to secure necessary material supplies for product development.
  • Utilize extensive experience in carbon material formation and characterization, as well as a deep understanding of polymer and organic chemistry concepts.
  • Develop and execute experimental designs, analyze electrode performances, and identify correlations with materials and process parameters.
  • Interpret analytical and electrochemical cell test data to establish relationships between processes and properties.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the management team, incorporating ideas into better solutions to achieve company and functional goals.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field +5 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in carbon material formation and characterization, specializing in the development of carbon scaffold to host silicon materials.
  • Strong understanding of polymer and organic chemistry concepts.
  • Demonstrated laboratory skills, including experimental design and execution.
  • Familiarity with battery material synthesis and characterization techniques.
  • In-depth understanding of battery materials, interfaces, electrolytes, and electrochemistry to advance mechanistic understanding of battery performance.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, creative, responsive, flexible, and able to productively challenge business paradigms.
  • Broad-based knowledge of silicon anode materials and applications, preferably with a global perspective.
  • Strong ability to influence technical and business teams and get consensus about decisions taken.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills for clarity with succinct delivery of messages for organizational alignment.
