Key Responsibilities of the Restaurant Operations Manager:

The Restaurant Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing daily restaurant functions and staff management, ensuring adherence to all company policies, procedures, and systems. This position provides leadership, guidance, training, and development to all team members. Additionally, the role is instrumental in driving restaurant success through sales growth, goal achievement, and profitability enhancement. Decision-making is aligned with established policies and the guidance of the Director of Operations.

  • Manage operations in compliance with company policies and relevant laws.
  • Oversee recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of staff; plan, assign, and direct work; evaluate performance; reward and discipline employees, including termination; address complaints and resolve issues.
  • Foster a positive restaurant culture and ensure high employee engagement.
  • Coach and mentor team members to promote their success and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Exemplify professional conduct while creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that motivates staff to excel.
  • Communicate sales performance and anticipated changes to the management team; implement corporate initiatives effectively.
  • Occasionally assist team members with their job responsibilities as needed.
  • Promote sales-building activities and encourage suggestive selling.
  • Optimize table turnover, sales per guest, and sales per hour.
  • Engage with guests; address and resolve any food quality or service issues to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain efficient operations, implement cost controls, and manage profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, local health and safety regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Promote safe work practices to maintain a secure environment for both guests and staff.
  • Monitor daily operations to uphold food quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Oversee daily operations, including cash control, inventory management, financial reporting, and scheduling.
  • Manage P&L, focusing on food costs, labor costs, and other controllable expenses.
  • Control food costs by adhering to recipes and portion sizes; responsible for weekly inventory management.
  • Optimize labor costs through effective scheduling and monitoring of daily performance.
  • Ensure proper utilization of restaurant equipment.
  • Maintain the facility and all company assets.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Previous experience in a leadership role is essential.

· A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a family, fast-food, or casual dining environment is preferred.

· College education and/or culinary training is a plus.
