Job Overview

Position Summary

This role involves the operation of various CNC machinery, focusing on the setup and verification of tooling as well as adjusting part offsets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold and promote the Core Values of CONSOL Energy: Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement.
  • Proficient in utilizing precision measuring tools, including calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales.
  • Analyze blueprints, sketches, and specifications to ascertain dimensions, tolerances, operational sequences, and setup requirements.
  • Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials necessary for machining parts.
  • Responsible for loading components, validating programs, operating controls, setting offsets, performing simple program edits, and conducting initial inspections to ensure compliance with tolerances.
  • Engage with management, production control, quality assurance, and team members to address assignments and resolve machining or quality concerns.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace, ensuring all equipment is kept in excellent condition according to maintenance protocols.
  • May undertake additional tasks as required.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to operate a range of precision measuring instruments.
  • Preferred minimum of two years of experience with 5-axis machine setups, such as those from Haas or Fanuc.
  • Familiarity with tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, and other accessories used in machine operation.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints and safety regulations.
  • Good manual dexterity for handling small components.
  • Adept at identifying and resolving common issues in the work area; able to evaluate and select solutions from established options.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Availability for overtime and weekend work as required by business needs.
