Job Summary

Meta is seeking a highly skilled Subsea Network Operations Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the operational support of our subsea network, ensuring its performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage subsea network performance and operations, ensuring optimal network utilization and minimizing downtime.
  • Perform maintenance and repair activities on Meta-owned cable systems, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Act as primary O&M SME for contracting and provide consultative guidance to internal teams on subsea network operations and maintenance.
  • Coordinate regular meetings with vendors, drive performance, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Provide technical support for subsea contractor teams, ensuring timely resolution of network restoration, performance testing, and engineering services.
  • Collaborate with program managers, procurement, engineering, and installation teams to formalize operational acceptance plans.
  • Contribute to documentation, automation, and process improvements, ensuring seamless handovers to operations teams.
  • Guide retrospective reviews of completed projects, incorporating lessons learned into future roadmaps and goals.
  • Oversee documentation efforts with technical writers, ensuring key decisions are captured and necessary documentation is maintained.
  • Work with partner teams to document end-to-end business processes, ensuring smooth operations and support.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in subsea operations, deployments, and technology.
  • Experience managing and switching BU's, WSS BU's.
  • Familiarity with DCN operations, management, network security, and architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with CLS tools and test equipment, managing landing party use and setup of equipment during repairs.
  • CLS management experience, including facilities maintenance and security.
  • Prior experience managing PFE and troubleshooting complex subsea power and grounding issues.
  • Experience in subsea O&M, including contracting, marine repair and maintenance, and marine repair dispatch and spares loading.
  • Technical experience in telecommunication networks, including DWDM, network infrastructures, IP networking equipment, optical testing, and optical measurement principles.
  • Experience understanding architecture for system dependencies and translating these into deployable solutions.
  • Experience with all possible wet plant failure mechanisms and diagnosing faults, whether electrical or optical.
