Job Description

Boardroom Appointments seeks an experienced ERISA Compliance Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Advisory: Provide expert legal advice to clients on ERISA compliance, employee benefit plans, retirement plans, and health and welfare plans.
  • Plan Documentation and Compliance: Review, draft, and update plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other related materials to ensure compliance with ERISA and other applicable federal regulations.
  • Fiduciary Duties: Advise clients on fiduciary responsibilities and obligations under ERISA, including investment decisions, plan administration, and conflict-of-interest issues.
  • Litigation Management: Represent clients in disputes and litigation involving ERISA-related issues, such as claims for benefits, fiduciary breaches, and plan mismanagement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Help clients navigate and comply with regulations from agencies such as the Department of Labor (DOL), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC).
  • Plan Audits and Investigations: Assist clients with internal audits and investigations related to employee benefit plans.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs for clients on ERISA compliance, fiduciary responsibilities, and best practices for plan administration.
  • Policy and Strategy Development: Help clients develop policies and strategies related to employee benefits and retirement plans.
  • Business Development: Engage in activities to attract new clients and expand the firm's ERISA practice.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of junior lawyers, associates, and paralegals specializing in ERISA matters.
