Job Summary

Houston Methodist Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Physician Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, the Physician Consultant will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care and optimizing resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement strategies for improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to case management staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient patient care.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of patient cases to identify opportunities for improvement and develop recommendations for optimizing resource utilization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with payers, vendors, and other external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimize reimbursement.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures to ensure consistency and quality of care.
  • Provide education and training to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on clinical documentation, coding, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical research, guidelines, and best practices to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.
  • Unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas.
  • Active practitioner with a minimum of five years of experience in clinical practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities. The Physician Consultant will be required to work collaboratively with medical staff, case management staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
