Position Overview
The Clinical Specialist at Regency Integrated Health Services plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of care provided to residents. This position involves serving as a knowledgeable advisor, educator, and auditor, while collaborating closely with the facility's leadership team, including the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Specialist is tasked with the following:
- Conducting thorough reviews of operational systems within the facility.
- Maintaining accurate records and personnel documentation to ensure compliance with care standards.
- Assisting in the recruitment process for managerial positions, providing advisory support.
Essential Duties
This role requires effective communication and collaboration, including:
- Engaging in interdisciplinary communication to foster a cohesive working environment.
- Meeting with the Administrator upon arrival to outline the objectives of each visit.
- Providing timely updates to the Administrator and Director of Nursing regarding significant findings throughout the day.
- Collaborating with facility leadership to develop and implement Plans of Correction for identified deficiencies.
- Submitting comprehensive reports to relevant stakeholders, including QA Consultants and facility staff.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
The Clinical Specialist will also:
- Monitor staff performance during direct care activities.
- Review regulatory reports and facility policies to ensure adherence to standards.
- Participate actively in corporate quality assurance initiatives.
- Recommend updates to policies and procedures as necessary.
Training and Development
A significant aspect of this role involves:
- Providing training to nursing leadership and facility staff.
- Researching and implementing effective training methods and resources.
- Contributing to the enhancement of resident care and staff development through ongoing recruitment and training efforts.
Qualifications
Educational Background
A Bachelor's degree is preferred for this position.
Licensing
Candidates must hold a current Texas RN license and a valid RUG certification.
Experience
Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility is preferred.
