As a seasoned leader at Cloudflare, you will spearhead the engineering efforts behind our dashboard and cloudflare.com. This pivotal role demands exceptional technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to drive growth and innovation.

Salary: For Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, and Minnesota-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $243,000 - $297,000. For New York City, Washington, Washington D.C., and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $266,000 - $325,000. For Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $279,000 - $341,000.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled individual with 15+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 8 years in leadership roles. As the Director of Engineering: Adoption, you will lead a team of engineering managers and engineers, collaborating closely with product management, design, and go-to-market teams.

Your Mission

  • Enhance customer and prospect engagement with our products and the company as a whole.
  • Lead the development of innovative solutions for our dashboard and cloudflare.com.
  • Drive growth and adoption through effective strategies and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Accountability
    • Own the successful execution of goals within the adoption solution area, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
    • Develop leaders within your organization who have their own track records of success.
  • Delivery and Execution
    • Drive goal-setting initiatives and take individual ownership of key objectives.
    • Ensure regular progress updates are shared with peers, executives, and other stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking and Vision
    • Break down ambiguous problems into concrete goals with clear outcomes.
    • Set a common direction and strategy across teams, creating cohesion around the mission.
  • Technical Excellence
    • Use your engineering expertise to identify improvement opportunities, enhancing product quality and development velocity.
    • Work with engineering managers and principal engineers to implement best practices.

  • Internet Expertise: Understanding of how the Internet works at layers 2 through 7, or mastery in a similarly complex domain.
  • Hands-On Experience: Experience developing web properties or contributing to open-source projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven excellence in building public-facing UX in an enterprise setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational excellence and make tough decisions when necessary.
