Position Overview
The Vice President of Airport Sales plays a crucial, hands-on role within the BEUMER Group Airport Division, focusing on market analysis and driving external customer sales.
Role Objectives
In this position, you will interact with airports, airlines, general contractors, consultants, and other significant stakeholders to forge successful partnerships aimed at expanding our airport business across North America.
As a business development leader, you will assess customer needs, collaborate with the management team to devise effective strategies for identified projects, and work closely with our systems design team during the conceptual phase of prospective projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate a comprehensive sales strategy targeting major airports to enhance the sales pipeline.
- Maintain awareness of upcoming capital projects within the airport sector.
- Provide regular updates on sales initiatives to internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate sales approval meetings throughout the sales process, detailing activities from development to closure.
- Deliver prompt, precise, and competitive pricing for all completed prospect applications, aiming to maximize profit margins.
Additionally, you will:
- Collaborate closely with BEUMER Group's Airport Headquarters in Denmark.
- Uphold all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, ensuring effective communication and implementation within your team.
- Engage with various internal departments (Finance, Operations, Customer Support, and Executives).
- Partner with Marketing to gather market intelligence and create relevant content.
- Oversee and coordinate essential business development activities, including:
- Analyzing customer requirements.
- Designing and developing tailored solutions.
- Demonstrating and presenting solutions.
- Crafting proposals and technical documents.
- Developing tools and enhancing processes.
- Participating in client meetings and transitioning proposals into orders.
Qualifications
Essential Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, specifically in providing comprehensive automated system solutions.
- Expertise in all facets of sales.
- Exceptional presentation and communication abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of baggage handling systems, including TSA regulations, controls, and conveying technology.
- Strong technical, mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent listening skills, leading to high customer satisfaction and the ability to identify opportunities and potential challenges.
- Comprehensive understanding of customer and market dynamics.
- Proven leadership skills and a successful track record in driving sales initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience in system sales or application engineering related to automated sorting systems.
- Familiarity with Airport Baggage Handling Systems, airport design, and construction.
Reporting Structure
The Vice President of Airport Sales will be located in Denver, Colorado, with significant travel to customer sites and periodic travel to Denmark. This role reports to the Vice President and General Manager of the Airport Division, with close collaboration with the global Director of Business Development for airports.
