Key Responsibilities

The Healthcare Support Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Welcoming and preparing patients for their appointments with a friendly demeanor.
  • Accurately documenting patient histories, including family and health histories.
  • Measuring and recording vital signs such as weight, height, and blood pressure.
  • Updating electronic health records with precise patient information and medication lists.
  • Assisting with prescription refills under the supervision of healthcare providers.
  • Conducting blood draws and processing laboratory samples according to established protocols.
  • Providing patient consultations to assess their health concerns and directing them to appropriate care.
  • Administering immunizations and maintaining accurate vaccine documentation.
Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Experience in taking vital signs, administering injections, and managing basic wound care.
  • Knowledge of chronic diseases and preventive care practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A commitment to patient empowerment and relationship-building.
  • A collaborative attitude and professionalism in all interactions.
Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following are advantageous:

  • Experience with the Vaccines for Children program.
Education and Experience

Applicants should have:

  • A minimum of six months of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
Work Environment

This role may involve exposure to various health-related conditions and requires the ability to work on a computer for extended periods. Team members will use standard office equipment.

Successful candidates will need to meet the physical demands of the role, including:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and lifting.
