Customer Interaction Skills

- Establish and maintain eye contact

Sales and Referrals:

- Promote banking services and direct business to the institution

Teller Responsibilities

- Reconcile cash drawer daily and maintain a balancing record in accordance with the bank's standards.

Technical Competencies

- Process transactions involving checks, cash, and savings; utilize scanning technology for all teller functions.

- Comply with all regulatory, compliance, and internal auditing standards.

- Assist in the preparation of necessary reports.

- Process various financial instruments and transactions.

- Maintain accurate records of customer transactions and account information.

- Ensure the appropriate amount of working cash is maintained.

- Balance automated teller machines and other cash handling devices.

- Accept payments for loans and contracts as necessary.

- Manage customer access to safe deposit box areas.

- Complete various administrative tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Stay updated on banking services and products. Complete all required training and compliance materials.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Write basic correspondence. Communicate effectively in group settings.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY

Ability to perform calculations related to banking operations.

PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS

Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and resolve issues as they arise.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to stand for extended periods and communicate verbally with clients and colleagues. Occasionally required to lift or move items up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is typically moderate in noise level.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Regularly engage with colleagues; expected to take initiative in completing tasks and resolving issues. Adapt to procedural changes and contribute suggestions for improvement.

COMPUTER LITERACY

Proficient in using computer applications for effective communication and documentation. Basic understanding of accounting software may be required depending on the role.
