About the Position:

As a Facilities Engineer at CBRE, you will oversee the monitoring, upkeep, and repair of building systems and operations across various domains, including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.

This role is integral to the Engineering and Technical Services function, focusing on delivering support, preventive maintenance, and repairs for equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems, ensuring that facilities and building systems adhere to applicable standards.
  • Adhere to all relevant codes, regulations, and company directives concerning building operations and workplace safety.
  • Manage an energy efficiency program, ensuring optimal operation of all systems.
  • Assist in implementing a preventive maintenance strategy to guarantee that building machinery and systems achieve or surpass their expected lifespan. Perform urgent repairs as necessary.
  • Follow departmental protocols for the safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and secure work environment.
  • Review inspections of building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to confirm that equipment operates within design specifications and meets environmental conditions set by clients.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of standard principles and techniques to tackle complex tasks and provide innovative solutions.
  • Mentor colleagues and share comprehensive knowledge of your job discipline, as well as a broad understanding of various related disciplines.
  • Exemplify leadership by modeling behaviors aligned with CBRE's core values, fostering consensus, and persuading others to reach agreements.
  • Influence a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams.
  • Operate within established guidelines and policies.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information effectively.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of relevant experience. A combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of a diploma. Universal CFC certification is preferred, along with any necessary certifications/licenses as required by local or state regulations. Previous supervisory or shift management experience is advantageous.
  • Meet the physical demands of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment based on the analysis of multiple information sources.
  • Willingness to adopt new perspectives on existing solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced mathematical skills, capable of performing moderately complex calculations such as percentages and fractions.
