Lead Archaeological Researcher

AZTEC Engineering Group is actively seeking experienced Lead Archaeological Researchers to enhance our Cultural Resources Division.

Position Overview:

We are in search of a highly qualified Lead Archaeological Researcher to oversee archaeological initiatives from inception to completion. This position requires the management of personnel, execution of field studies, report preparation, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform archaeological investigations and evaluations
  • Oversee projects and teams, ensuring timely and budget-compliant deliverables
  • Secure necessary permits for field operations
  • Collaborate with governmental agencies and subcontractors
  • Draft technical documentation and research proposals
  • Guide and develop cultural resources personnel

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related discipline
  • Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) certification
  • A minimum of 8 years in Cultural Resource Management
  • Proven experience as a lead investigator or project manager
  • In-depth knowledge of cultural resources in the Southwest and/or Great Basin regions
  • Exceptional communication and organizational abilities
