Lead Archaeological Researcher

AZTEC Engineering Group is on the lookout for an experienced Lead Archaeological Researcher to enhance our Cultural Resources Team.

Position Summary:

We seek a proficient Lead Archaeological Researcher to oversee archaeological initiatives from inception to completion. This position entails supervising personnel, executing field investigations, compiling reports, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform archaeological investigations and evaluations
  • Oversee projects and team members, guaranteeing timely and budget-compliant deliverables
  • Secure required permits for field operations
  • Collaborate with governmental agencies and subcontractors
  • Draft technical documentation and research proposals
  • Guide and develop cultural resources personnel

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related discipline
  • Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) certification
  • At least 8 years of experience in Cultural Resource Management
  • Proven experience as a principal investigator or project leader
  • In-depth understanding of cultural resources in the Southwest and/or Great Basin regions
  • Exceptional communication and organizational abilities
