Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Smurfit Westrock. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on electrical and mechanical systems involving production equipment and plant systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure production machinery functions correctly and efficiently
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, compressor, and vacuum systems
  • Work on motors, and conveyors, AC/DC, PLC troubleshooting
  • Will work with steam and boiler controls and mechanical power drives
  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance activities
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Complete timely and accurate paperwork
Requirements
  • Strong Electrical and Mechanical aptitude required with extensive troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with Troubleshooting in a Production/Manufacturing Environment
  • An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls and power transmission systems
  • Ability to install and set up both A/C and D/C drives
  • Able to install and troubleshoot basic 3 phase motor control circuits
  • Knowledge of the various types of sensors and limit switches
  • A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability preferred
  • Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Must be fully computer literate with Microsoft environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner
  • Ability to work weekends & overtime
  • Basic mathematical skills and basic technology/computer skills

The pay range for this position is $23-35/hr depending on your role, level and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentives, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number or programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.

Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience and education.
