POSITION: Aerospace Quality Inspector
STATUS: Contract to Hire, Hourly Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARYThe Aerospace Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and quality of aerospace components. This position involves performing a variety of inspections to guarantee compliance with industry standards and specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting incoming, in-process, and final inspections on aerospace turbine components, adhering to established procedures and practices.
- Executing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports and documenting necessary data accurately.
- Collaborating with aerospace engineering teams to recommend enhancements for work instructions and routing processes.
- Generating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) within the quality management system.
- Reviewing documentation throughout the inspection process to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Utilizing precision measurement tools as required for inspections.
- Operating small cranes for the movement of equipment and materials.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhering to Environmental Health and Safety regulations in a dynamic work environment.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Completion of specific on-the-job training to meet essential duties and performance criteria.
- Mandatory completion of EHS assigned regulatory training as outlined in the EHS Training Matrix.
- 3+ years of inspection experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
- 3+ years of experience interpreting technical drawings and work instructions.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and timekeeping applications.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform pushing and pulling tasks.
- Proficient in grasping and performing repetitive motions with hands and fingers.
- Close visual acuity for tasks such as data analysis, visual inspections, and operation of machinery.
- Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels and potential hazards.
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with team members.
