Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Manager - Evening Shift will oversee all maintenance operations to guarantee optimal performance across the entire facility. This encompasses various responsibilities in Maintenance Business Management, Maintenance Materials Inventory (MRO), Maintenance Lifecycle Management, Manufacturing Process Reliability, and Equipment Dependability, including departmental budgeting, computerized maintenance management systems, and preventive/predictive maintenance initiatives. Additionally, this role requires expertise in managing technical skills related to electrical, electronic, control programming, mechanical systems (process and packaging equipment), waste management, stockroom operations, and utility systems, including but not limited to boiler and refrigeration systems. Collaboration with engineering teams to develop, coordinate, and execute maintenance-related capital budget items is also essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead maintenance teams to ensure all systems function at peak efficiency to meet production schedules, quality standards, and cost objectives.
  • Enhance reliability and maintenance processes to minimize costs and prevent production losses due to equipment failures.
  • Assess equipment capabilities and safety conditions in collaboration with other supervisors and technicians.
  • Create cost-effective preventative maintenance protocols that extend the operational lifespan of equipment.
  • Identify and implement continuous process improvements through equipment modifications.
  • Contribute to the development of operational standards and corrective measures.
  • Establish and regularly review site-specific maintenance logs for the department.
  • Coordinate and supervise corrective and preventive maintenance in line with company policies and financial guidelines.
  • Provide training on maintenance practices, including effective use of maintenance logs and routine equipment operations.
  • Assist team members in diagnosing machinery and equipment malfunctions.
  • Analyze production schedules to estimate labor requirements for job completion.
  • Support inventory management by preparing requisitions for spare parts.
  • Help maintain the departmental budget positively by optimizing workforce and equipment use.
  • Participate in safety training, monthly safety meetings, and contribute to safety projects as a member of the safety committee.
  • Evaluate long-term needs related to major projects and facility enhancements.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are kept in safe, operational condition and arrange for necessary upgrades or replacements.
  • Establish procedures for timely equipment repairs.
  • Guide teams in the maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and utility systems.
  • Oversee the assembly, disassembly, and installation of industrial machinery.
  • Foster positive employee relations through regular communication and monthly departmental safety meetings, enhancing participation in safety and ergonomics committees.
  • Analyze production downtime reports to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Engage in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in developing procedures and corrective actions.
  • Lead the implementation of the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards to achieve targeted results.
  • Collaborate with business leaders on process improvement initiatives (Six Sigma / Lean/Kraft Heinz Management System) including change management and facilitation.
  • Assist in supervising maintenance staff, focusing on performance management and employee development.
  • Communicate effectively with external agencies, including contractors, equipment suppliers, and technical consultants.
  • Maintain close coordination with the Maintenance Manager, other Supervisors, team members, and Human Resources.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field is highly preferred.
  • 1-5 years of relevant leadership experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems is essential.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining TPM Systems is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems, including ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems, is advantageous.
  • Understanding of direct and overhead cost systems is beneficial.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, including troubleshooting and programming, is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends is necessary.
