Position Overview:
Elderwood is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Speech-Language Pathologist to contribute positively to the lives of our residents and their families. This role is crucial in providing high-quality speech-language therapy and ensuring the well-being of individuals in our care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of residents to identify communication challenges and develop tailored therapy plans.
  • Perform audiometric screenings and recommend further audiology services as needed.
  • Implement speech-language therapy plans based on physician directives, maintaining regular communication with healthcare providers.
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for all residents receiving therapy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate speech-language therapy with other care approaches.
  • Participate in care planning meetings to discuss residents' needs and progress.
  • Maintain accurate records for statistical reporting and compliance with Medicare billing.
  • Engage in staff training and development to enhance the skills of facility personnel involved in resident care.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • A valid state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, maturity, and ability to work collaboratively with others.
