Position Overview

The Director of Strategic Planning is tasked with leveraging customer insights to address creative challenges and foster brand development. This role serves as a strategic lead in pharmaceutical marketing and advertising, focusing on the practice manager, payer, and professional sectors. A solid background in Managed Markets is essential, along with a comprehensive understanding of the practice manager demographic, particularly in securing coverage for individual patients and navigating provider reimbursement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate independently to achieve job objectives, including leadership in pivotal strategic projects such as customer insight generation, competitive analysis, creative brief formulation, channel strategy development, and messaging.
  • Direct strategy projects and teams to create and implement thorough strategic frameworks and initiatives.
  • Improve the agency team's comprehension and application of coverage and reimbursement mechanisms relevant to the business.
  • Collaborate with various Agency departments to integrate strategic thinking across all agency endeavors.
  • Oversee the strategy for designated accounts and act as the primary strategic advisor to clients, delivering effective and value-oriented solutions.
  • Conduct research related to strategy and creative processes.
  • Lead the strategic aspect of new business proposals.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in generating insights and developing channel strategies and value propositions tailored to the practice manager and/or payer/population health decision-maker audience.
  • Familiarity with benefit structures in Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial/Private health insurance.
  • Experience in conducting benefits investigations and prior authorizations to secure insurance coverage for biologics.
  • Knowledge of provider reimbursement systems.
  • Proven ability to facilitate workshops and lead brainstorming sessions.
  • Strong grasp of managed markets and their relevance to pharmaceutical brands.
  • Solid understanding of strategic frameworks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional presentation abilities.
  • Experience in managed markets from either agency or client perspectives.
