Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Food Clerk at McMurdo Station. This role is essential for managing the receipt, storage, organization, inventory, and distribution of food and supplies to our customers. The Food Clerk will also maintain accurate records related to the supplies and ensure optimal customer service while prioritizing safety in food storage areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to the supported department, effectively communicating with customers and management.
  • Perform tasks safely and efficiently, adhering to established protocols.
  • Become proficient in the Maximo inventory management system and warehouse operating procedures.
  • Execute assigned tasks as directed by management, whether verbally or through task lists.
  • Receive and properly store all incoming food and materials for the kitchen.
  • Manage 'Freshie' orders bi-weekly and coordinate resupply preparations for remote locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen storage areas and delivery docks.
  • Research and issue supplies to customers, accurately documenting all transactions.
  • Conduct regular inventories and audits of supplies, maintaining accurate stock records.
  • Prepare weekly reports on deliveries and develop task lists for future seasons.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and report any hazards or incidents.
  • Support the achievement of ASC metrics and comply with Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support food service operations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current ServSafe Food Handler certificate is mandatory prior to deployment.
  • Valid driver's license and U.S. Passport are necessary.
  • One year of experience in materials administration, including inventory management in a food service environment is preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
