Basic Qualifications for Environmental Project Supervisor:
A

Educational Requirement:

A bachelor's degree (or higher) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related fields pertinent to the position.

OR

B.

Combination of Education and Experience:
Courses equivalent to a major as described in A above, in addition to relevant experience or further education.

In addition to the basic qualifications, candidates must also meet the following specialized experience requirements:

Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience that includes implementing biological practices, principles, and techniques related to managing, planning, and executing environmental, recreational, and natural resource management activities at a water resources project, as well as experience in applying natural resource management laws, policies, and regulations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR

Educational Path:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the position, such as biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related fields.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be utilized to qualify for this position, provided the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To calculate the percentage of the requirements, divide total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.

Add the two percentages.
