About the Position

This role is part of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Region 10, Water Division, Permitting, Drinking Water & Infrastructure Branch, Infrastructure Assistance Section. The EPA is a federal agency responsible for protecting human health and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide policy and procedural guidance on environmental issues.
  • Manage project/program milestones, scoping, and budgeting for technical projects or programs.
  • Perform program coordination and technical assistance efforts with environmental projects or programs.
  • Prepare review comments on environmental and public health data to support and ensure compliance with agency goals and objectives.
  • Manage a variety of complex and difficult grants and cooperative agreements.
Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have one of the following:

  • 1 year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level.
  • 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree; or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Competencies

Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of professional environmental engineering, physical science, and/or life science concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal environmental statutes, regulations, and policies.
  • Knowledge of federal grants, cooperative agreements, and inter-agency agreements regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and establish goals and assess progress toward their achievement.
  • Ability to utilize software programs to assist in data management and analysis.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
