This role is part of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Region 10, Water Division, Permitting, Drinking Water & Infrastructure Branch, Infrastructure Assistance Section. The EPA is a federal agency responsible for protecting human health and the environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide policy and procedural guidance on environmental issues.
- Manage project/program milestones, scoping, and budgeting for technical projects or programs.
- Perform program coordination and technical assistance efforts with environmental projects or programs.
- Prepare review comments on environmental and public health data to support and ensure compliance with agency goals and objectives.
- Manage a variety of complex and difficult grants and cooperative agreements.
To qualify for this position, you must have one of the following:
- 1 year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level.
- 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree; or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
- Knowledge of professional environmental engineering, physical science, and/or life science concepts, principles, and practices.
- Knowledge of applicable federal environmental statutes, regulations, and policies.
- Knowledge of federal grants, cooperative agreements, and inter-agency agreements regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and establish goals and assess progress toward their achievement.
- Ability to utilize software programs to assist in data management and analysis.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
