Position Summary:
The Director of Cyber Security is tasked with leading and managing the organization's information security initiatives to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data. This role encompasses supervising a team of cybersecurity experts, formulating security policies and protocols, and executing strategies to defend against cyber threats. The Director will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure adherence to security standards and effectively mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regional Cyber Operations:
    Oversee the North American cybersecurity team, fostering a collaborative and effective work environment with stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement a regional cybersecurity enhancement roadmap, ensuring benefits are tracked and reported.
  • Execute the annual cybersecurity assurance program.
  • Engage with regional business units to align security initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates to the Chief Information Security Officer.

Cybersecurity Advisory:
Advise regional business units, legal teams, development teams, and IT on security requirements aligned with Equus's policies and the current threat landscape.

Cyber Risk Management:
Administer regional cybersecurity policies and standards, conduct risk assessments, manage the risk register, and oversee treatment actions and planning. Responsibilities also include exception management, security awareness training, and third-party risk management.

Compliance Oversight:
Continuously monitor compliance with regional legal, regulatory, and IT security requirements through audits and project delivery checkpoints. Enhance automation and continuous monitoring capabilities for security controls.

Continuous Improvement:
Participate in industry forums and committees, and complete an annual professional development plan to stay current with industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior cybersecurity position, with a proven track record of managing security programs and teams.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role or equivalent environment.
  • Strong domain expertise in Information Security.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic focused on outcomes.
  • Active participant in state, national, and international cybersecurity organizations and networks.
  • Possession of recognized cybersecurity certifications such as CISA/M, CISSP, SABSA, or equivalent.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Extensive experience in Risk Management.
  • Preferred experience in cloud security.
