Position Summary
The Cyber Security Analyst plays a crucial role in protecting an organization's IT infrastructure and sensitive data from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. This position involves monitoring security systems, assessing potential risks, responding to incidents, and implementing protective measures to secure systems and information. The Cyber Security Analyst collaborates with the Cyber Security team, the D&T department, and external security vendors to establish and maintain technical controls that meet specific security requirements while defining processes and standards to ensure security configurations are upheld.

- Collaborate with the Cyber Security Team to ensure that the technical and business configurations of the delivered solutions align with client expectations.

Core Responsibilities
Security Operations
- Assist in maintaining Equus's security infrastructure and third-party services.
- Collaborate with D&T and the Cyber Security team to identify, select, and implement technical controls.
- Support business and stakeholder security inquiries.
- Work with the business to complete necessary security documentation.
- Contribute to the creation of information security operations documentation.
- Audit access privileges to systems, networks, and applications, recommending modifications to ensure timely and appropriate access.
- Assist in developing security metrics and reporting for stakeholders.
- Identify key improvements to enhance the organization's security posture.
- Support the deployment of the Global Security Strategy.
Incident Management
- Assist the Security Operations Centre and other Cyber Security Team members in investigating potential incidents.
Risk Management
- Participate in risk assessments and treatment planning.
- Manage exceptions and promote security awareness and training.
- Oversee third-party risk management.
Advisory Role
- Advise regional business lines, legal, and D&T on new security requirements related to business developments.
Continuous Improvement
- Work towards enhancing organizational systems and processes to maximize employee efficiency and productivity, ensuring quality outcomes for clients.
- Actively seek better ways to support colleagues and clients in this continuous improvement process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar are preferred.
- Proficiency with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus software.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and security principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex security issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Experience with Azure and M365 security tools is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and a productive work ethic.
