Job Title: Structural Designer

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Structural Designer to join our team at HARDESTY & HANOVER in New Haven, Connecticut. As a Structural Designer, you will be responsible for performing structural design and analysis tasks for projects, including bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects under the oversight of a senior engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare contract documents for bridge design projects, including design calculations, developments of plans, specifications, quantities, and estimates, and submittal of reviews during construction
  • Prepare detailed plans for assigned bridge engineering tasks
  • Occasional field site visits

Requirements:
  • BS in Civil Engineering required
  • EIT Certification preferred
  • Up to two years of experience
  • MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Code Requirements
  • Familiarity with Structural Engineering and Analysis software
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in cooperative, team environments
