About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join Trane Technologies as a HVAC Controls Technician in a commercial environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service and maintenance to our customers in a defined market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems in a commercial environment, utilizing your knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts.
  • Coordinate with team leaders and customers to understand requirements for on-site installation and repairs, forecasting issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing work.
  • Represent the company as the direct customer contact, responsible for products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.
  • Use cutting-edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
  • Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays, while continually enforcing safety to the highest standards.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required, and typically 5+ years of experience in HVAC, with technical school or formal training preferred.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphones, iPads).
  • A valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit-and-run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
  • EPA Certification.
Additional Requirements and Environmental Exposure
  • Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seatbelt.
  • Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harnesses, and safety boots to safely perform job duties.
  • Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction, squat, and touch the floor with both hands, reach your hands over your head, and stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods.
  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders, with occasional lifting and moving of equipment and materials.
