Job Overview

A prominent global law firm is in search of a Billing Supervisor to enhance their accomplished team. This role is vital within the accounting department, tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the billing unit in the designated office. The Billing Supervisor will ensure adherence to all firm policies and procedures while mentoring and guiding the billing personnel in their professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager or Billing Manager to assess departmental staff performance and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure departmental objectives are achieved, delivering accurate and timely completion of tasks and inquiries.
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of annual and monthly tasks, including quarterly inventory initiatives, year-end collections, inventory oversight, e-billing coordination, and other critical time-sensitive projects.
  • Engage in regular discussions and meetings with partners and management regarding financial inventory matters.
  • Work closely with billing attorneys, administrative staff, and clients to review, prepare, finalize, and dispatch invoices.
  • Continuously analyze work-in-progress (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) reports to effectively manage inventory and expedite billing and collection processes.
  • Partner with the Accounting Manager to enhance team skills, ensuring all members are equipped with current industry knowledge and practices.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or a related discipline, with a preference for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or a Master's in Business Administration (MBA).
  • At least nine (9) years of progressively complex accounting experience, including a minimum of four (4) years in law firm billing processes.
  • A minimum of four (4) years in a supervisory role within a law firm setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels to promote transparency and alignment with firm objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities, including organizing, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on mentoring and motivating team members for ongoing improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage change initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Capacity to develop and implement change management strategies aimed at maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges.
