Job Responsibilities
  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Operates X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment to assist radiologists and/or physicians with diagnosing and/or treating disease and/or injury.
  • Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, implementing infection control procedures for the work area.
  • Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis, adjusting/setting radiographic controls as needed.
  • Positions patients and takes X-rays of specific parts of the patient's body as requested by physicians, checking X-rays for clarity of image and retaking when needed.
  • Distributes X-rays to appropriate medical staff, maintaining required records including patient records, daily log books, and monthly reports.
  • Performs quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
  • Complies with safety standards, cleaning, maintaining, and making minor adjustments to radiographic equipment.
  • Maintains radiographic supplies and orders as necessary.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in radiological technology from accredited X-ray technology program.
  • One to three years of experience as X-ray technologist, preferably in medical practice environment.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred.
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to converse and hear, with normal (corrected) vision and coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., but may vary depend on Company Schedule.
