Job Summary:

The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for operating X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment that assists radiologists and/or physicians with diagnosing and/or treating disease and/or injury.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Protect patients, self, and other staff from radiation hazards, adhering to established protocols.
  • Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, implementing infection control procedures for the work area.
  • Select proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis, adjusting/setting radiographic controls as needed.
  • Position patients and take X-rays of specific parts of the patient's body as requested by physicians, checking X-rays for clarity of image and retaking when necessary.
  • Distribute X-rays to appropriate medical staff, maintaining required records including patient records, daily log books, and monthly reports.
  • Perform quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
  • Comply with safety standards, cleaning, maintaining, and making minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs.
  • Maintain radiographic supplies and order as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in radiological technology from an accredited X-ray technology program.
  • One to three years of experience as X-ray technologist, preferably in a medical practice environment.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Requires mobility, frequent walking, standing, and sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching, and periodic lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires normal (corrected) vision, coordination, and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment.
Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., but may vary depending on the Company Schedule.
