Job Responsibilities

  • Operate X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment to assist radiologists and/or physicians with diagnosing and/or treating disease and/or injury.
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, protecting them, yourself, and other staff from radiation hazards.
  • Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, implementing infection control procedures for the work area.
  • Select proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis and adjust/set radiographic controls.
  • Position patients and take X-rays of specific parts of the patient's body as requested by physicians, checking X-rays for clarity of image and retaking when needed.
  • Distribute X-rays to appropriate medical staff and maintain required records, including patient records, daily log books, and monthly reports.
  • Perform quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
  • Comply with safety standards, clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, and determine equipment repairs.
  • Maintain radiographic supplies and order as necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in radiological technology from accredited X-ray technology program.
  • One to three years of experience as X-ray technologist, preferably in medical practice environment.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment, requiring mobility, frequent walking, standing, and sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching, and periodic lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Requires normal (corrected) vision, coordination, and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., but may vary depending on Company Schedule.
