Position Overview

The engineering division at Simpson Strong-Tie is committed to providing education, services, and support to both internal and external stakeholders through innovative approaches.

This role involves serving as a technical authority for internal and external clients, including specifiers, building officials, and contractors across various regions.

The Branch Engineer will be instrumental in creating and presenting technical content that supports sales initiatives, drives the development of new products and services, and enhances existing offerings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering technical assistance to clients and sales teams through effective communication (25%)
  • Collaborating with sales representatives to build relationships, provide technical support, and conduct site visits (25%)
  • Creating and delivering presentations on building code provisions and practical design using our products (20%)
  • Developing content for technical publications and ensuring accuracy prior to release (15%)
  • Engaging with industry associations through meetings and technical presentations (10%)
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by management (5%)

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A valid Professional Civil or Structural Engineer license (CA & SE preferred)
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant structural consulting experience
  • Practical knowledge of light-framed wood and concrete construction methodologies
  • Familiarity with connectors and lateral system product lines
