Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Product Engineer to support the development, implementation, and testing of products in our Composite Strengthening product line. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our testing lab team to provide testing and assessment of research and development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage FRP & FRCM strengthening product performance test programs for product support, code evaluations, and certifications.
  • Develop FRP & FRCM strengthening and restoration/protection products for the building industry.
  • Work with Marketing to develop product technical literature.
  • Provide technical and application support for products.
  • Provide internal support and training as well as evaluation of processes and procedures in pursuit of continual improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering required.
  • A licensed civil or structural engineer (P.E. or S.E.) is preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in structural design, including reinforced concrete and masonry structures is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Practical knowledge of standard concrete and masonry construction methods and building codes. Familiarity with Simpson Strong-Tie products is a plus.
  • Reading Comprehension/ Speaking/Writing: Ability to read and interpret documents such as architectural and structural plans, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Reasoning: Effective analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to motivate and work with team members. Connect, interface, and communicate well with various internal sales, marketing, IT, quality, production, and engineering partners.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills are needed, as clear communication is required to effectively deliver projects to customers and direct and train staff engineers.
  • Software: Frequently used software includes Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as other software.

Work Status and Location

This is a full-time, exempt position in Pleasanton, CA, Stockton, CA, Riverside, CA, McKinney, TX, Columbus, OH, or West Chicago, IL. Remote work arrangements will be considered for qualified candidates.

Relocation is not available for this position.

Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
