Job Summary

Pathways To Housing DC Inc is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Mental Health Recovery Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, you will provide flexible, community-based services to promote the stability, recovery, and community reintegration of individuals with mental illness and substance abuse issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized recovery plans in collaboration with clients and the ACT team.
  • Provide outreach, case management, counseling, advocacy, and other necessary services to clients in various settings, including the community, shelters, and hospitals.
  • Coordinate and monitor referrals to community services and advocate for client participation.
  • Lead groups, workshops, and in-services on topics relevant to client needs.
  • Perform related work as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 years of experience in mental health services or human services, or 3 years of related experience, or lived experience with some college/continued education and 1 year of experience.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills.
  • Patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion, and sensitivity to persons with disabilities and other minority populations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Driver's license required.
