Key Responsibilities

As a Loan Loss Recovery Specialist at BECU, you will play a vital role in recovering funds for the credit union, ensuring its financial health while upholding its core values and policies.

You will be responsible for negotiating settlements, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, tracking and monitoring accounts, following up diligently, locating debtors, recommending improvements, and staying lawful.

You will also be an escalation point for issues arising with Loan Loss Recovery collection matters, document procedures, report impacts, and coordinate with vendors.

Additionally, you will handle daily operations, process new charged-off accounts, manage payments, returned mail, proofs of claim, and prepare necessary correspondence.

As a key member of the team, you will be expected to be flexible and ready to take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of collections laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

A minimum of 5 years of customer service experience, with at least 3 years in collections, is required for this role.

Certifications related to collections or legal collections are also desirable.
