Job Overview:

This role focuses on Controls Engineering, specifically in the design of control systems for robotics, conveyor/material handling, and various automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer specifications and propose equipment control designs to meet their needs.
  • Design, test, and implement automation systems.
  • Create engineering documentation, including wiring schematics, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and panel machining drawings.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure equipment adheres to design and customer specifications.
  • Engage in presentations alongside sales staff at customer or prospect locations as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive project records.
  • Travel may be required, including some international trips.
  • Stay updated on product knowledge and relevant technology related to Simplimatic's offerings.
  • Ensure system and product functionality through proper operation, error recovery, and compliance with DFMEA.
  • Uphold product and company reputation by adhering to safety regulations.
  • Guide and train build technicians to ensure project completion.
  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge through workshops, trade shows, and professional publications.
  • Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7-10 years of experience in automation systems or maintenance roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HMI, PLC, motion controls, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with Robotics, specifically Fanuc.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Prior experience in robotics implementation is advantageous.

Personal Attributes:

Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning skills are essential. A collaborative team player with well-developed interpersonal skills is necessary, along with the ability to interact with diverse personalities. The ideal candidate will possess good communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. A results-oriented mindset is crucial.
