Overview:

The Manufacturing Automation Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of automated systems and processes within the manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in PLC programming and integration, enabling the optimization of production lines, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development
  • Design and develop automated systems and processes to enhance production efficiency.
  • Create and modify PLC programs to control machinery and production processes.
  • Integrate various automation components, such as sensors, actuators, and robotic systems, into existing production lines.
  • System Optimization:
  • Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Implement and fine-tune PLC-controlled systems to optimize production flow, reduce cycle times, and improve product quality.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot issues related to automation systems.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead and manage automation projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality control, to implement automation solutions.
  • Maintenance and Support:
  • Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production staff on automated systems and PLCs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for PLC programs, electrical schematics, and control systems.
  • Ensure all automated systems comply with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in automation technology and PLC programming.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Work closely with the quality team to ensure that automated processes meet all product specifications and quality standards.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on automation and PLC programming.
  • Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar).
  • Experience with HMI (Human-Machine Interface) development and SCADA systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industrial networks, such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, or Profibus.
  • Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel to various plant locations as needed.
