Job Overview

Dynacast, LLC, a prominent entity within Form Technologies, stands as a leading global producer of precision-engineered components, employing advanced multi-slide die casting technology. We are currently seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our dynamic team.


Role Summary:

The Controls Technician plays a vital role in the maintenance and support of electrical control systems, machinery, and equipment. This position is essential for ensuring the seamless operation of automated production cells, including robotics, control systems, and vision technologies. Collaboration with plant personnel is key to maintaining optimal machinery performance and addressing various operational tasks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in meeting the electrical, control, and automation requirements of the manufacturing facility.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical challenges related to mechanical assemblies, computer controls, sensors, actuators, and robotic systems.
  • Address and rectify technical malfunctions in machinery, encompassing mechanical, electrical, programming, or sensor-related issues.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
  • Oversee the programming of automated cells and vision systems.
  • Maintain, repair, and service instrumentation, electrical, and process control systems.
  • Contribute to the creation and review of engineering specifications for both new and existing equipment.
  • Integrate automation solutions, including robotics and vision systems, into die casting operations.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in an automation-focused role.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams.
  • Experience in PLC programming and associated hardware.
  • Familiarity with camera inspection systems (e.g., Keyence).
  • Experience in programming industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc, ABB).
  • Knowledge of electrical and control cabinet construction.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills for controls, electrical, and mechanical issues.
  • Experience in die casting is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work off-shift as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Preferred: Associate degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Required: Five years of experience with electro-mechanical automated/robotic equipment in a manufacturing setting, including build, repair, testing, installation, and maintenance.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, or experience will be considered.
