Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Intake & Hotline Counselor (DV Services) at Women Against Abuse. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the safety of families across Philadelphia while being part of an established, vision-oriented nonprofit organization.

About the Role

This position requires answering the Hotline as needed, providing information and referrals, options counseling, and support to victims of domestic violence and their children. You will conduct intake for Women Against Abuse Safe Havens and collaborate with OSH intake staff to assess clients' needs and arrange for direct access to DV shelter or other safe options.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Answering the Hotline as required and providing necessary support and information to clients
  2. Conducting intake for Women Against Abuse Safe Havens and collaborating with OSH staff to assess client needs
  3. Assisting clients in maintaining safety and connecting them with available services when no DV shelter beds are available
Requirements
  • An Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • A minimum of one year's experience in advocacy, hotline, crisis, or related fields is necessary
  • Experience working with victims of domestic violence is preferred, but not mandatory
Benefits and Compensation

This role comes with a competitive salary of $18.44 per hour and various benefits including paid sick time, Employee Assistance Program for self and household members, annual increases, and pay differential for agency observed holidays and declared inclement weather.
