About the Role

nLIGHT is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of our Hillsboro campus, which includes semiconductor and component assembly operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including the management of plant systems, maintenance and repair of equipment, and supervision of maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of our Hillsboro campus, including component assembly and semiconductor operations.
  • Plant Systems Management: Manage the operation of plant systems, including control systems and equipment, as a content expert.
  • Facilities Planning: Oversee facilities planning and general contracting of projects related to cleanrooms, HVAC, Ultrapure/DI water, Fire/Life Safety Systems, Cryogenic and chemical delivery/waste systems.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Oversee the repair and preventative maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Daily Operations: Manage daily facility operations and resolve any escalated issues.
  • Operational Budgeting: Forecast and manage operational budget and schedule for facility modifications.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise one Facilities Technician, providing direction, ensuring appropriate training, delegating work, coordinating schedule, monitoring and assessing performance, and taking appropriate and timely corrective/disciplinary action in coordination with organizational leadership and HR, as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of supervisor experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Lean Principles: Lean Principles skills preferred.
  • Facility Explorer: Knowledge of Facility Explorer monitoring system preferred.
  • Project Management: Experience managing projects including site modifications and expansions.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership and relationship building skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with employees of various backgrounds, education, and national origin.
  • Technical Skills: Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting, and ability to perform and mentor routine maintenance procedures on plant facilities systems.
  • Business Acumen: Strong budgeting and cost management skills, as well as the ability to investigate and lead solutions to manufacturing constraint issues.
  • Certifications: Ability to be ERT certified as part of Facilities Engineering team, and ability to be a member of the safety committee team.
  • Software Skills: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products.
