Maintenance Operations Specialist

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of Amentum's facilities and equipment. This role involves performing a variety of tasks, including electrical repairs, fleet maintenance, plumbing, welding, carpentry, and general mechanical maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity.
- Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance, determines the nature of the problem, and recommends an appropriate solution.
- Coordinates the day-to-day operations of a group of employees.
- Leads and directs by assigning, monitoring, and reviewing the progress and accuracy of work.
- Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
- Coordinates work with outside contractors.
- Assures code and building standards are met.
- Performs repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities, equipment, fixtures, and systems.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility systems.
- Performs work based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules.
- Reviews work as required to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc).
- Assists in the movement of furniture, materials, and equipment as required.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Works with or oversees subcontractor activities as directed by supervisor or work schedule.
- Performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
- High School graduate or demonstrated equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in the area of specialization.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Position involves working in environments where mechanical equipment, weapons, etc. are being installed, tested, analyzed/monitored, operated, and/or maintained. Equipment may be loud and noisy or have exposed moving components. Such positions may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling, and carrying, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
