About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Development to join our team at Teach For America. As a key member of our Revenue and Development team, you will be responsible for cultivating, stewarding, and managing a portfolio of donors to maximize revenue for our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set vision, strategy, and plan for cultivating a portfolio of donors, incorporating input from the Executive Director and Vice President, Field Fundraising, with the goal of maximizing revenue to the organization as a whole.
  • Manage, cultivate, steward, and solicit (when appropriate) a portfolio of donors.
  • Work in close partnership with the local Executive Director to build the relationships necessary to advance fundraising efforts, including local advisory board members.
  • Consistently maintain donor, prospect, and fundraising activity information in our customer relationship management system and leverage this information in tracking progress, monitoring gaps, and adjusting strategy and approach.
  • Steward team and organizational initiatives.
Requirements
  • At least 7+ years of related experience in development and fundraising context.
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding ambitious goals as a donor portfolio manager.
  • Preferred: Teach For America development experience.
